Class starts again the week of January 16, 2012
Ever wonder what it's like on Broadway? Try our Musical Theatre class. Do a Broadway show with big Broadway numbers! Register early and guarantee your child's place in this fabulous class. Enrich your child's life with music and theatre. Last term, our Broadway Jr musical Willy Wonka Jr. was a big hit! Allyson Foster lent her amazing voice to the role of Willy, and Brogan Chaput was an adorable Charlie. We had opened the class to kids aged 6-18. And every kid contributed a magic moment of musical theatre. That's because the Musical Theatre class gets to perform a Broadway show tailored to their abilities. Every single cast member improved significantly through the process. Our musical theatre offering for this year is Disney's Aladdin! This libretto is filled with numbers to keep a cast of thousands busy! Colourful costumes and well-loved songs (A Whole New World, Prince Ali, Friend Like Me) mean that this show will be a spectacular piece that you can be proud of. See what has been done with this show by other casts. This year, we will run the class like a production with a two month rehearsal period, where we feel the improvement in the performers will be even more spectacular. IN addition to learning the process of theatre by doing, the students will also create a theatre resume, head shot, and develop auditioning skills for musical theatre. The Musical Theatre class will perform their Broadway Jr. show on stage before a paying audience with sets, props, costumes, lights and action. In Musical Theatre we value team work, hard work and fun! |
Classes start up again January 14th 2012
We value achievement amd personal enrichment in our acting classes. Our program sets the child up to succeed while demonstrating that failure is a part of learning and not a terrifying one at that. Kids learn to walk by falling down. Kids learn to ride a bike with a few bumps and bruises. We encourage kids to try and if they don't make it the first time, they soon will. Our Stage Right courses teach beginning to advanced theatre arts while promoting teamwork and cooperation. Every actor is allowed to develop at their personal pace in a supportive and encouraging environment. The final class is an informal scripted performance with an invited audience of family and friends. We have been teaching acting to children, teens and adults for over a decade. We promote the art of theatre in a positive and caring manner, however, our courses should never be considered as 'theraputic'. We teach the art of theatre, so that people who love this art form will be able to flourish at it. Our interests lay in the development of the artist within the person. Stage Right classes are grouped by age, and the class duration is set accordingly. All levels of ability are represented in the class, much like you would find in a theatre production. We believe that the way to learn is through experience, through acting, through participating at your level of comfort. |
