Our production company; Bottle Tree Productions specializes in three things

Bottle Tree Productions provides a safe and healthy environment for young people to develop their

  • self-esteem
  • talent
  • leadership abilities

The performing arts is a viable career choice for young people with thousands of Canadians finding work in both Canada and The United States. Our company specializes in helping kids to realize their dreams. To that end we are involved in co-operative education programs with the board of education. We hire young people through the Keys employment agency. We offer opportunities for young people to work with us to gain their high-skills majors. The high skills major program allows young people to gain credits through their artistic pursuits. We have strict anti-bullying and anti-harassment policies in place so kids have a safe environment to learn in. We provide our expertise and resources to help local schools with all facets of production. Many of the kids that are attracted to the arts have learning disabilities and the performing arts is a place where they can blossom.

Our drama classes and musical theatre classes provide kids with a safe place to fail. Once kids realize that they are allowed to fail, they will be unafraid to take risks and further develop their talent. Kids who succeed in the performing arts become leaders, unafraid to speak in public to groups of people, unafraid to make decisions, and unafraid of the hard work needed to succeed. Kids in the performing arts might not want to be actors, but being trained as an actor, they have the confidence to achieve their career goals.

Working with the child and their parents we can help families to navigate around the pitfalls of pursuing a career in the performing arts. Many of the young people we have worked with have gone on to professional careers. Our website provides a tremendous amount of free advice and resources for young artists interested in all aspects of theatre, from writing, to acting to directing to back stage. now ranks in the top 6 percent of websites ranked by popularity in the world.

We have a four show season, starting in the early spring with our musical theatre class's production of Disney's Aladdin featuring genies, magic lamps, a princess and a poor boy who makes good in this entertaining magical carpet ride of fun and music.

In the summer we celebrate the 200th anniversary of our war with the United States in a new play called '1812' a romantic epic about the forgotten war between Canada and the United States.

During the week of Remembrance day, we perform the world war two drama; Til the Boys Come Home;

At The Grand Theatre in December; we present 'Katya,' a story for the whole family

Bottle Tree Productions has worked with many Canadian writers and performers to create original work. For our new play '1812', we will incorporate local musicians actors, directors, writers and backstage crew. Bottle Tree Productions has garnered a number of awards in its short history, and Charles Robertson has written several well received plays about Canadian history including Sir John A MacDonald, King of the Klondike and Til The Boys Come Home.
