One new notice posted November 28, 2011
**NB We also offer acting classes to all ages (children to adult) - new session begins Januray 2012, enrol now.
Kingston has many opportunities for actors in theatre and in film. If you are looking for work, paid or unpaid, check back often and ask to be added to our auditions mailing list. You will be notified from time to time when new opportunities are posted here.
Sometimes, other companies let us know about auditions that they are holding. When possible, I will add information to this page about calls in the community, and in larger centres like Toronto and New York. Unless I think that listings outside of our own are particularly attractive, or important, I may not send to my email list. This is to avoid annoying recipients with frequent emails. You are welcome and encouraged to check this page as often as you wish, but I won't spam you with every notice that comes out. However, I will send email each time we are casting shows for our own company.
We make no claims of legitimacy for any posting for casting for any company or person, other than Bottle Tree Productions. We strongly recommend that you find out about the company that you are auditioning for before you accept work, or before you audition for strangers. There are several pages of audition information here on our site. You will also find articles about what to expect for auditions for actors of all ages, as well as monologues for teens, children, and adults.
We usually draw on the community in Kingston for cast and crew. Most calls are open.
If you would like to be notified of casting calls by email, please send to auditions mailing list. More contact information (full name and phone number) is also appreciated but not necessary. Please do not send resumes by email, but do bring a resume and head shot to your call. OR subscribe to our feed and find out about postings immediately! Click the orange RSS button on the right to add our feed to your reader.
Additionally, we are always interested in making new friends and seeing old ones. If you like the atmosphere of theatre, and you would like to help with our productions, we can always find room backstage for more hands! Please email a.mortensen (at) bottletreeinc (dot) com, subject "Auditions" and you will receive all casting calls which will also include requests for help on specific shows. Please tell us in your email what you like to do and include your full name and phone number.
Auditions can be nerve-wracking experiences,
particularly if you are auditioning for a stranger. Here are three tips from our article
We have information about preparing and delivering monologues, and we have many FREE monologues posted online to help actors with their auditions.

(From Greg Curtis)
I am assisting with the production of some new "heritage" minutes for broadcast in Kingston. We require several male actors between the ages of 25 and 65. Most are non-speaking roles. In particular, we need lookalikes for Winston Churchill, both at the age of 66 and 27 (the latter must have a British accent). Unofficial shooting date is January 7. A small gratuity will be offered.
They will be broadcast on CKWS and appear on YouTube. We have done three in the past, two about Sir John A. Macdonald and one about Fort Henry, the latter of which you can see here . Our two newest ones will be about Winston Churchill's visits to Kingston, first in 1901 (when he promoted his book about the Boer War), and again in 1940 (when he secretly met with the U.S. Secretary of Defense.) Please contact me for Greg's email information, if you are intereseted in this opportunity.
