Charles Robertson's new one act play is getting it's first performance at the Kingston and St Lawrence District Sears Ontario Drama Festival. The play; Give me Shelter is being performed by Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School. Student Kieran Broekhoven is acting in the play and directing it. It is a large ensemble piece about life in a homeless shelter. Robertson has another play in the festival; Pretty Pieces which is being performed by Kingston CVI. It stars and is directed by student; Renee Kimmett. The Sears Drama Festival is North America's longest running drama festival. It is a great way for high school students from across Ontario to get together and learn from each other.

March 10

Governor gerneral Award winning playwright Judith Thompson along with Dora award winning actor Carolyn Hetherington will be at Theatre 5 on Baiden Street in Kingston on Easter Weekend as part of a fundraiser for the theatre company. Bottle Tree Productions did a production of Thompson's first play Crackwalker three years ago. It was directed by Zorba Dravillas. It is a grim look at this city's impoverished. Riveting writing. Tickets for this fundraising event are twenty dollars for adults, ten dollars for seniors and five dollars for students. Thompson will have a talk back with the audience.

Former National Theatre School Grad and Stratford Festival actor; Jacob James is adjudicating the Kingston and St. Lawrence District of the Sears Drama Festival. James himself, participated in the festival as a student at KCVI. He won top homours in David Mamet's One Act Play; Duck Variations.

March 1

On March 5 and 6, the City of Kingston is hosting 4 public meetins to help decide the path of the City's Integrated Cultural Heritage Strategy and Cultural Tourism .
