CHRISTINE Them U-boats. They’re fightin’ dirty! They’re sinkin’ everything! I guess that’s why he joined up...to even the odds.
RALPHIE (Stands up) I’m gonna join up! My daddy says I should join up, so that’s what I’m gonna do. I’m gonna join up, cause my daddy says, we got to beat the Germans! He says that if a guy don’t join up, then he’s a lily-livered coward! (Looks around awkwardly and sits back down and then speaks quietly) That’s what my daddy says.
JIMMY (Quietly) Ralphie...Shut up. I got more important things on my mind, like what the heck does ALEX see in that guy?
CHRISTINE Jealous?
JIMMY Me? Jealous? You’re kiddin’ right?
CHRISTINE Well, gosh Jimmy, I think he’s kinda cute.
JIMMY (Looks at her for a moment and then stands up) C’mon boys.
CHRISTINE Jimmy... (Turns to WILL) Will!

CHRISTINE Can’t you control your friend?
WILL (Not wanting to be involved.) Aw Chris.
JIMMY (Marches over to JOE’s table) Hey Bookworm. (JIMMY starts flipping through the pages of the book that JOE is reading.) What’s this stuff that you’re reading?
MEGHAN (Pleading with WILL) Will! Stop him!
