Checking our links

We have done the research for you. The difference between legitimate and scam agencies is that legitimate agencies don't advertise. Why would they need to? People will find them. There are also codes of ethics which apply to agencies which discourage advertising. So, when you see a particular agency advertised in the US or Canada it is likely not totally legit. Of course the problem is, how can people find these legitimate agencies. Too many parents and teens get scammed. They don't know the business. We list legitimate agencies to help the visitors to our website. These companies do not advertise with us. If an actor has done all this work in developing their career, and if they have the determination and the drive, they might as well drive in the right direction.

Checking the website of actor's unions for approved websites

In the United States you can check the SAG and AFTRA websites for approved agencies, and in Canada, the ACTRA website. These websites have very good information on them regarding the business of acting. They have been developed over the years to protect the rights of actors.

Do your own research

Doing your own research on the internet is always a good idea. However, it is a lot of work and you need to start somewhere. So, finding the information on a website like ours and then researching the sites of these agencies saves a lot of time.

Responding to advertising

Scam agencies pick on lazy people, people that don't do their homework, people that think show biz is all glamour and not work. While it is easy to get picked up by a less than legitmate agency, it means a harder path to legitimate acting work. A legitimate agent will protect the actor's interests. A legitimate agent is a business partner. But like any partnership, both parties, the actor and the agent have to work hard for their mutual success. To succeed in anything takes work, work and more work.
