The Little Mermaid will be performed at The Octave Theatre on Dalton Ave off of Sir John A Macdonald Boulevard near the 401. General Seating including hst $12.00 for everyone.
Musical Theatre class supports your child's interest in participating on stage in a major musical production. We know that there is a lot of interest, and a lot of competition out there for coveted spaces on stage in 'real' shows, and have developed our Musical Theatre class to address this need.
We choose shows that have appeal to young people and that support large casts, and role sharing. Every student who enrols in the class is guaranteed a place on stage as an actor in the production. There are no prerequisites for enrolment - if you have an interest, we will train you! When possible, we share roles so that more students get a taste of being both chorus and a named role. The class runs like a production, and the show is performed for a paying audience in a proper theatre, with lights, sound, set, costumes - the works!
Over the years, our musical theatre students have performed Sweeney Todd, Willy Wonka, Aladdin, Little Red Riding Hood, Snowdrops for Katya, and Cinderella. The process of rehearsing a show helps to create bonds that last a lifetime, and our students and their families are proud of the results of their hard work.
The Little Mermaid JR is our musical theatre production for 2013. It is a Disney classic, featuring the music and characters that are known and loved, as well as some new songs.
Rehearsals (classes) take place throughout the week (evenings), as the class works to master the show. There are normally ten to twelve weeks of three rehearsals each leading up to the performances at the Octave Theatre at the end of March, or beginning of April (not yet set in stone!).
