'Sister Aimee' by Richard Rossi
Richard Rossi is excited to win this prize for his first one-act play about female evangelist Sister Aimee. It's a tale he felt was worth telling a third time, as Richard wrote and directed an Academy Award considered documentary about Aimee Semple McPherson in 2001, and the feature dramatic film "Sister Aimee: The Aimee Semple McPherson Story" (released worldwide by Maverick Entertainment in 2008.) Richard recently sold his first novel Stick Man, a coming-of-age tale that will be released internationally in Spring, 2010 by Savant Books. He starts shooting his next film Baseball's Last Hero: The Roberto Clemente Story in summer, 2010. He's grateful to Charles Robertson for hosting such an important contest to encourage playwrights.
