First Prize and $1000

Eighty-Two by Evan Guilford-Blake is a tender look at an ex-ball player in his eighties living by himself in New York. Guilford-Blake is a master craftsman of the dramatic medium. Evan has won 39 play writing competitions.

Imperfectly Frank by Seth Freeman is a Bollywood romp through Toronto. A very funny look at arranged marriages in modern Canada. Seth has won three Prime Time Emmy awards and a Writer's Guild award. He is also a prolific playwright.

Close your Eyes by James Harmon Brown is a very funny, very insightful, very touching look at mortality. James won a Daytime Emmy for Guiding Light.

Welcome to our annual play writing competition.

Our competition is in its fourth year with a top prize of $1,000.00. We do not produce the winning entries but we will promote them. The top ten entries can submit a monologue from their play to our monologues page. In that way we hope to build up interest in your play for purchase of scripts or performance.

If you would like critical input about your play, please submit a $50 cheque made payable to Bottle Tree Productions, Or deposit $50 into our PAYPAL account

Don't Forget

Leave the playwright's name and other contact information off the script. This info should be included on a separate title page.
Please number your script pages.

A note to new writers. Please make sure that you don't put extraordinary special effects in to your scripts without any instruction detailing how to achieve this miracle. Otherwise brilliant scripts have been rejected because of impossible to achieve effects.
